Blog 16: 2-Hour Meeting Answer #2

Q1) What is your Essential Question?
A1) What is key in winning a sparring competition in a national championship?

Q2) What is your second answer to your essential question?
A2) My second answer that I was able to draw a conclusion through all my research and mentorship is, Execution.

Q3) What are three details to support or justify your second answer?
A3) Just like my first answer, I broke down my second answer into two parts:

  • Speed
  • Timing
Speed and timing are one of the most basic yet vital pillars in sparring and also because Taekwondo Sparring  is renown for its fast and power kicks. With speed the Taekwondo athlete is able to deliver the punishing strike and with timing the athlete will be able to score the point or even score a K.O.

Q4) What source helped you prove this answer is justified for your Essential Question?
A4) Through my research with the "Competitive Taekwondo Strategy" book, my mentorship, and my personal experience with sparring.

Q5) What do you plan to study next with your second answer and why?
A5) I plan to continue my research on my 2nd answer by looking up more training drills to improve kicking speed and reaction time.
