Interpretive

The most important thing I was able to gain from my experience from my mentorship and mentor was that I was able to learn how to adapt to certain techniques and strategies and being able to explain to all the students of different ages and size. Through mentorship I did so much trial and error that I know what techniques are effective are teaching kids and adults that will be competing in big championships like State competition or National competitions.

Applied

Just the entire experience of being at my mentorship, and being able to teach my students techniques and figuring out which is effective or ineffective helped me answer my essential question. Through having small exhibitions at the school I was able to arrive at the answers of, having strategies, executing the kicks, and just experiencing sparring with different opponents.

A1) What is Key to winning a sparring competition in a National championship? Q2) What process did you take to arrive at this answer?
A2) Working with my mentor and researching through various sparring books helped me completely with any problems or possible answers that I arrived at.

Q3) What problems did you face? How did you resolve them?
A3) The main problems I faced was deciding on answers because I had multiple possible answers that did not make the cut.

Q4) What are the two most significant sources you used to answer you essential question and why?
A4) The two most important sources that I used was my mentor, Fourida Dewi-Chandra, and my text book,  Competitive Taekwondo: winning training and tactics. C) spreadsheet
D) Basically what I did for my independent component 2 was personally train and teach students who was competing in the state competition in vegas.

Interpretive

Applied

This second independent component help me practice more specifics towards competition. As you can see in the photos I trained the kids to have good technique in their form and sparring. I was a little mean here and there but it all was worth it because the kids were always smiling in the end. it help me answer my EQ because for the certain students that were competing in sparring in the state championship I was able to apply the coaching skills I learned and picked up through my research, mentorship, and from personal experiences. Some students were able to win with my help but others tried their best but lost. I noticed some kids trained harder than others and which was why they were able to succeed while the other ones didn't cut it.
